Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to all!
Here's a cute picture of Rachel in a Christmas dress someone in our ward gave us. (She had planned to send it to her niece, but didn't get it sent off in time, and since it's not really the type of dress that can be a late Christmas gift, we got it.)
Of course there was a hat that came with it, but don't worry, we didn't actually make her wear it for more than a minute or so for the camera.
As you can see, she loved the hat.

One month

Well, it's Rachel's one month birthday today. We gave her a cupcake to celebrate... well, I ate the cupcake my visiting teacher gave me, figuring she'd get some in milk form. Time flies. She's sleeping a lot better now than a month ago--5 hours in a row most nights. And this week she's started smiling back at you when you smile at her... but only if she's fed and changed and there's no one else around and the camera isn't within arms reach, of course. It's really cute, though. She opens her mouth and scrunches her nose and it looks like she's laughing silently. One of these days we'll catch a picture of her smile.

Bath time

Rachel isn't a real big fan of baths. You'd think she would like the water having spent 9 months swimming around in it, but no. Here's a video of her enjoying her bath the other day. She actually did pretty good for a while, but the rest of the bath pretty much looked like the last frame of the video.

Jedi Knight

Well, here's our little jedi knight--and I don't mean that in the same way that my brother's first son will be Jed I. Knight (Jedediah Isaac). Which brother gets that privilege remains to be seen--the race is on for the first boy.
Anyway, check out the Jedis--which one has more mind powers? Its hard to say.

The grandmas

Grandma Campbell was able to come visit for most of last week. It was great to have her here (not just because of the tasty food and the cleaning she did, but that was a nice perk). Here's a couple of pictures of her with her favorite grandchild.

Jacob is trying to get Rachel to enjoy her new toy, Bob, but I think she's more interested in looking at her daddy's face.Tummy time with Rachel, Jake and Bob (the worm rattle).

Boxing Rachel

Here's a few more pictures for your viewing enjoyment. Rachel didn't much enjoy this first car ride coming home from the hospital, but she doesn't seem to mind so much these days-- at least she doesn't get in her boxing stance anymore, like she did this time.












And here's the cute daddy-daughter duo enjoying a little down time. Rachel is getting a little better at finding a finger to suck on, although she doesn't like it when her hand suddenly isn't there anymore because she moved her arm--one day she'll realize they're connected.

As a side note, if anyone has any cool websites I can check out when I'm up at 3 am with Rachel, let me know--it helps pass the time faster, and I don't fall asleep in the glider while burping her if I have something else to focus on. :)

Rachel "Spike" Campbell

Rachel was born yesterday finally, and we decided that Spike would be a fitting middle name, given her natural hairdo, and the fact that she will be one of the biggest kids on the block (at least among newborns for now) weighing in at an ounce under nine pounds, so she will naturally become the neighborhood bully and will need a tougher name than Rachel to keep up her reputation.
Here are a few cute pictures... more to come, since she is a rather cute kid--although she's much cuter in person--the pictures just don't do her justice.

In order too address the overwhelming number of people who are interested in the goings on of our oh so exciting life, we have created a blog. Bookmark it, put the rss feed on your google homepage, and enjoy living vicariously through our exciting life. :) Okay, maybe not, but at least you can check out the pics of our cute kid that will be arriving any day now. We'll try to be sure to update this on a fairly regular basis.
