Saturday we had the pleasure of enjoying a company picnic put on by Jake's company out at Old Tucson Studios. Free food, and free admission. Can't beat that. :) I hadn't been to Old Tucson since I was probably 6 or maybe 8, and there was a huge fire since then that burned it mostly down, so I didn't know how much was still the same (not that I really remembered much, anyway). It was a nice day for June-in the low 90's-hot, but not unbearably so. It turned out to be a nice afternoon. Here are a few highlights:Jake and Rachel enjoyed their imprisonment in the Sheriff's office. Rachel especially liked the bed and climbed up on it to take a nap (or pretend to).
There are a plethora of movies that were filmed here, like The Three Amigos, Tombstone, and several John Wayne movies.
We got to ride the train that circles the place. Rachel loved the train. Here's an attractive picture of our hygienic child.
Rachel loved the horses that were around, and got to pet these horses while they were stopped waiting for new customers for the stagecoach tour.
Rachel riding in style.
Here we are manning the Land Office.
I think this is part of El Guapo's estate:
We also rode the carousel several times (which Rachel loved almost more than anything else, besides the train ride) and enjoyed a fun afternoon together.
