I've been meaning to get a picture of all the grandkids for weeks in order to get a new picture printed for Grandma and Grandpa, but once I made that plan my kids started quarantining one after another, then it was stake conference, so finally last week everyone was at church at the same time and I snapped some pictures.
After family dinner that day the kids got to decorate their own dessert. It was the second annual ugly sweater decorating party. They made some good ugly sweater cookies.
Ryan may have over used the frosting and sprinkles.
Since it was Grandpa's birthday he got to judge them. Everyone chose their favorite sweater they had decorated for his judgement.
They all turned out ugly. Just like Ugly Sweaters are supposed to be.
After judging the cookies Grandpa got to open his presents. We're thankful to have Grandpa and his sense of humor around.
The following day I picked the kids up from school early and we headed to the Gaslight Theater to watch Elf'd. It was a great show and we all had fun (and enjoyed the milkshakes, too).
The next day was ugly sweater day at DWE. Since the kids didn't have Ugly Christmas Sweaters (I just got a perfect Llama Christmas Sweater, but it only fits Rachel), they decided to make their own. Left to right are Annie's, Ryan's and Megan's ugly Christmas sweaters.
Wednesday was Rachel's band concert. We had to sit through the orchestra and the younger band, but it all turned out pretty good and didn't go too long, which I was worried about. They're making great progress.
Friday was the last day of school for the quarter and I got to attend Rachel's award ceremony. She got the PRIDE award for coming every day prepared, and the Principal's award for earning a 4.0 GPA. We're proud of her and how well she does in school and that she's so responsible.
Annie and Eloise combined forces when their class did their winter wonderland and made a gummy bear battle.
Friday night was our ward Christmas party. We had good dinner and took some pictures at the photo booth.
Annie ended up as the donkey in the live nativity at the Christmas party.
After the party we came home and did some pampering--I introduced the girls to facial masks. Annie chose the peel off mask, which she later regretted while the others all chose the wash off mask. Kenzie and Peyton just wanted beards.
Even Ryan got in on the fun.
Saturday we got to help clean the church (perfect Light the World activity), then had the rest of the day for some R&R. We introduced the kids to the musical Scrooge and overall they liked it.
Sunday we celebrated Grandma's birthday at Todd and Savannah's house so Grandma didn't have to cook.
Now we are officially in Christmas break. Todd has plans to go through all their games and clear out ones they don't play or don't like to make room for new ones. The kids have a list of Christmas movies to get through before Christmas. And I think Rachel's big plan is to do a whole lot of nothing (and a little basketball).
