Near the end of fifth grade, Megan's class went on some field trips. I tagged along on the movie field trip where we watched The Minecraft Movie. A fun time was had by all.
Megan has been in National Elementary Honor Society for the last several years. They help with things around the school, including helping at the Diamondbuck store, and delivering weekend meal bags that the food bank provides to classes for kids who need them, and shopping for Angel Tree gifts at Christmas time. At the induction for next year's NEHS students they recognized the 5th graders for their service.Megan wanted to go to the last Skate Country Night of elementary school, and she had a fun time and got a lot of signatures in her yearbook.
The 5th grade water day and hot dog picnic is always a fun day. A fire truck comes and sprays the kids (and makes a muddy mess of the field) and the kids just get a lot of down time to hang out with friends. And finally it was promotion day! Mrs. Forgacs has been at DWE since Rachel was in 1st grade, and principal since she was in 2nd grade, I think. So basically she got all 4 kids through their elementary years and I'm so grateful to have had her leading the pack. She made DWE a great place for the kids to grow.
Mrs. Owens hasn't been there quite that long, but probably most of Megan's elementary career, and we're grateful for her, too.
Harmony, Megan, Cora, and Willow, along with their friend, Abigail, have been a good pack of friends this year.
Picture time to celebrate Megan!
Megan got a crochet book she's been begging for as a promotion present and was so excited to start making some Impkins.
On to middle school!
Ms. Welter was a great teacher and we appreciate all she did to make 5th grade wonderful.
After promotion we met friends at Denny's, then took some of them back to our house afterwards to hang out and have some fun.
