Ryan joined cross country this year, and, no surprise, he loved it. Even running in the hottest summer heat in the middle of the afternoon, he embraced it and really enjoyed himself. His team had a lot of fun doing things outside of practice, including a fun movie night at the Hager's, Saturday morning practices, and more.
Ryan started out the first race holding back a little, and placed in the 20s, somewhere, but after that he realized he had more in him and the rest of the season finished around 11th or 12th place most of the time.
He ran in the Rattlesnake run and had a fun time with that.
"I am Ryan, hear me roar!" The top 7 runners from the team got to run and they lined up with the fastest 3 at the front. For Desert Sky there was Ryan Campbell, RYAN ___?___, and Colton CAMPBELL.
At the end of season banquet Ryan was recognized for being the top 6th grade runner, and for the good attitude and work ethic he brought to the team.
The day after the banquet was the district championship. Ryan did great, I think finishing #15 or thereabouts and is looking forward to running again next year.
