My cousin, Becky, and her family came up to Salmon for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and my Aunt Reah went and got David's kids and brought them back to Salmon, too, while David went to California to run in a 100 mile race. Crazy. Anyway, since lots of little people were running around down at Reah's house we went down there to hang out Friday morning. The kids had fun playing with new cousins, and Aunt Reah pulled out some Froot Loops for some tasty jewelry making.
That afternoon/evening we went into the Salmon park for a picnic, then swimming at the pool with everyone. On this trip Annie became a little chip pig. She seems to have some kind of chip radar and she would find the bag of chips where ever it was, then appropriate as her own. If someone came to ask for a chip she would generously dole out them out one at a time ("You can have one.")
No, I am not drowning Ryan. He is a fish and can either breath underwater or hold his breath well. He kept walking right off the step towards me in his own version of "jumping" to me. No fear in that kid. But maybe he'll be swimming when he's two. He can already float on his back as long as he doesn't freak out.
Annie is getting braver in the water, too, and while she will hardly ever sit down all the way in a kiddie pool, usually only getting her feet wet, if that, in the big pool she jumps to me and doesn't mind going all the way under.
Rachel made big progress in swimming this day and was brave enough to have her face in the water long enough to actually swim. She would doggie paddle a few strokes, lift her head up for a breath, then put her head back in and swim a few more strokes. Woohoo! Now that she knows she can do that she'll make progress way faster in her swimming lessons.
Jacob snapped a cute picture of McKenzie and Justin at the pool:
Jacob's sisters, Cari and Lisa, who are living in Rexburg came out Friday night and stayed most of Saturday to hang out with the fam. It was great, especially since Lisa had school most of the following week when we would be in Provo with the rest of the family, so we wouldn't have gotten to see her if she didn't come visit. We were still at the pool when they got to Salmon, so we met up with them there, then got in some time on the playground.
