Vacation-Saturday with Aunt Cari and Aunt Lisa

We had a good time while Cari and Lisa were there. The girls enjoyed some special bedtime stories with their aunts. All crammed together in one arm chair.
Saturday morning we set off to explore the farm a little.
We went back behind Grandpa's house to a secret hideout we'd found earlier in the week on one of our explorations with Grandma Knight. There is a tire swing, a plank for walking, boards nailed to the tree to climb up it, and even a kitchen sink.

On our way to visit the cows we stopped by this playhouse. We had seen a snake in the field the last time we were exploring, but didn't see any this time. We did find that the cat liked the house just as much as Annie and Ryan, though.
Checking out some of the cows:
Then it was back to the rope swing by Grandpa's house. That rope swing has been there for ages. Since I was a kid. And it's still going strong.

Ryan, Annie and I enjoyed watching the fun from our respective vantage points.

Jared joined us, and let me borrow his hat.
We went in to get ready for some water fun. And snapped a few pictures of Ryan in his favorite chair at Barb and Boyd's house.
Maybe we should get him one of his own here at home.
My mom picked up a slip 'n slide in town, and when we got it all set up the fun began.

Annie wouldn't do anything but tip toe down the slide for most of the time.
The kids didn't quite get the run and slide idea, so we mostly had to pull them down the slide.

It was a little warm, and the kids needed to see how a slip 'n slide was really supposed to work, so I showed them. And landed on the nail clippers in my pocket. Ouch.
Rachel started to follow suit, and would run and slide on her bum. In Utah the following week she started to get better and sliding on her tummy head first.

Annie finally got brave and slid on her bum. And loved it.

Barbara brought over suckers for the kids. A perfect bribe for a picture-taking opportunity.

The kids wore the adults all out, so while they napped, the kids watched a movie and had some quiet time.

Cari and Lisa had to head back to Rexburg that evening, but we were glad they had been able to come and stay for the day, at least. And knowing that they would be seeing Cari at least in two more days forestalled the usual "I'll miss them so much!" meltdown from Rachel.
