Vacation-The Upper Place

The nice thing about visiting Grandpa's farm is that car rules go out the window as long as we're on the farm. We decided to head up to the Upper Place where they graze the cows in the summer for a picnic, and we got to ride in the back of the truck. Of course it was the first day that week that it was blazing hot, into the 90s, so by the time we got up there we were all a little hot.

We didn't go very far up. We set up "camp" just before the stream crossing where there was some shade and minimal cow pies and had our picnic there.

Benjamin decided he'd had enough of the city style and pooped all over his clothes just so he could be Hillbilly Ben in the overalls his mom had in the diaper bag.
With all the green grass and picturesque landscape I went a little crazy with some portraits of the kids.

 Goofball:

 Best picture ever:

After lunch the kids went to play in the water. Even though it was freezing cold enough to make your bones hurt, they didn't care. They're kids.
Except for Rachel. This picture pretty much captures her attitude that day. She had allergies, was hot, and just generally cranky. She snapped out of it a little later.

Then snapped back in to it... We are a happy family! (As long as you don't talk to the girl in pink.)
